Lennon Denies Club Have Offered £2.3m To Snap Up Celtic Outcast

Celtic manager Neil Lennon has refuted claims that the Scottish champions have received an offer from Amiens to sign left-back Boli Bolingoli.

It was reported on Thursday that the Ligue Two side had tabled an initial loan proposal, with an option to buy the Belgian at the end of the season for £2.3m but, when asked whether they had received any bids, Lennon replied:

“No, not that I am aware of.”

Bolingoli is not expected to be at Parkhead beyond the close of the transfer window. His decision to travel to Spain and return without telling anyone angered Lennon, with the Hoops’ games against St Mirren and Aberdeen having to be postponed as a result.

The 25-year-old had already fallen down the pecking order behind Greg Taylor for the left-back position and it is thought that Celtic will accept any reasonable offer for the player.

Whether Amiens will actually make a formal approach for Bolingoli in the coming days and weeks, we shall have to wait and see.
