Lennon Outlines Celtic’s January Plans With Two Players Set To Leave

Celtic manager Neil Lennon has hinted that he is looking to add to his squad during the January transfer window.

The Hoops boss thinks the sheer number of games the Scottish champions will be playing over the coming months make adding to the squad a necessity, but he will let at least two players leave on loan:

“No matter what the gap is, we will look to strengthen. We may look at letting a couple of players go on loan. We are thinking of that at the minute, allied to the volume of games.”

Celtic’s participation in the knockout rounds of the Europa League means increasing the size of the squad will be needed.

Lennon has already suggested that the club will sign another striker, with Odsonne Edouard having had to take most of the workload in the first half of the season.

The other area which may be looked at is central midfield. Celtic have been linked with Bnei Yehunda’s Ismaila Soro in recent days, but the Ivorian would likely be a permanent deal.

Another possibility could well be Victor Wanyama. Lennon is a big fan of the Tottenham star, having worked with him before, but there is likely to be fierce competition for his signature.
