Lennon Reveals Celtic Have Suffered Double Injury Blow

Celtic manager Neil Lennon has confirmed that both Mohamed Elyounuoussi and Jozo Simunovic were missing from the squad for yesterday’s game against St Johnstone due to injury.

Simunovic, who was heavily criticised for his performance in the defeat to FC Copenhagen, is suffering with a knee problem. It is unclear whether the issue is related to the one that kept him out for four months at the beginning of the season. The Croatian only returned to action in January following surgery.

Elyounoussi picked up a hamstring strain in training last week and the latest injury setback for the Norwegian will be extremely frustrating considering the length of time he has been out already this campaign.

The Southampton loanee spent over two months on the sidelines with a foot injury, and only returned to first-team action at the beginning of February.

Elyounoussi made his first start since his return to fitness in the 3-1 loss to Copenhagen, but he has now had yet another injury setback which could prevent him from featuring in upcoming games.
