Lennon Says He Will Sit Down For Talks With Two Wantaway Celtic Players

Celtic manager Neil Lennon has confirmed he will sit down and talk with both Craig Gordon and Scott Sinclair about their futures at the club.

Gordon has expressed his desire to leave in the January transfer window, and Lennon has hinted that he may reluctantly allow the keeper to leave next month:

“I had a wee chat with Craig on Saturday. He’s a player I’d be loath to let go or want to see go out the door because he’s a quality goalkeeper.”

“Fraser is the number one currently and if anything happened to him then Craig is a ready-made replacement to step in. From a selfish point of view, I want him to stay. He might have his own principles and want to play himself.”

“It’s a situation not of Craig’s making. He’s a great pro and I get the fact he might want to play more games.”

Sinclair has also said he would be open to leaving Celtic Park if he can’t get first-team football, and the Hoops manager revealed he will also sit down for talks with the 30-year-old:

“I’m not aware of those quotes at all. We will have a chat with Sincy going forwards. It’s been a difficult period for him because of the quality in front of him at the minute.”

Gordon has only made six appearances under Lennon this campaign, with Fraser Forster the undisputed number one after some superb displays.

Sinclair has fallen out of favour since Lennon’s arrival at the club and has only made the matchday squad for two Premiership games this season. He was not on the bench for the 2-0 win against Hibernian yesterday with Lewis Morgan keeping him out of the 18.
