Lennon Singles Out Key Factor That Could Prove Decisive For Celtic In Rangers Clash

Celtic manager Neil Lennon says the fact that his squad have a week to prepare for the Old Firm derby will be a huge benefit going into the game at Ibrox.

It has been almost non-stop for the Hoops since the winter break, but Lennon thinks the week-long preparations for the clash against Rangers should help them to perform at their best level this weekend:

“We have a full week to prepare for this, so we’ll go into it strong and try to win the game using the style of football that’s conducive to the way the fans want us to play and what the club’s used to. Having a week to get ready for the game is a novelty.”

Considering their Glasgow rivals will be playing in the Europa League against Bayer Leverkusen tomorrow night, as well, it means Celtic should have an advantage in terms of player fitness heading into the match.

Lennon has also confirmed he has “almost a full complement” of players to choose from, with the exception of Mikey Johnston, which should further strengthen their hand.

Celtic could stretch their lead at the top of the table to sixteen points with a victory on Sunday, and with just seven games to go, a win would surely seal their ninth league title in a row.
