Manager Dismisses Chances Of Celtic Securing Permanent Deal For Loan Star

West Bromwich Albion manager Darren Moore has ruled out the possibility of Oliver Burke extending his stay at Celtic beyond the end of the season.

The winger has already stated he’d be keen to stay at Parkhead after his loan spell but Moore says he expects to have the 21-year-old back at the Hawthorns in the summer:

“We do want to get him back. If Oli is back in the shop window it’s because he’s doing well for Celtic. The magnificent thing is he’s our player and he is being developed to be brought back here for West Brom.”

“We hope to see him back here in the summer after a succession of games and goals. The players in front of him here were scoring goals so he found it hard to get regular games. We’ll get him back in the summer and have a player who is nearer the front line.”

Burke has already impressed Celtic fans after scoring twice on his league debut against St Mirren last week. He came on as a substitute against Hamilton Academical in the 3-0 win on Saturday.

The Scottish international’s asking price and wages would likely have proven a stumbling block in the player staying for the long term in any case.

It is believed that Burke earns £30,000 a week at the Baggies with the Championship club having shelled out £15m on the winger just 18 months ago.

Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers will, however, be hoping that the loanee keeps up his great form for the rest of his time at the club.
