“Maybe I Can Take The Leap…” Celtic Star Lays Out Future Ambitions Amid Premier League Interest

Celtic midfielder Matt O’Riley says he’s hoping to play in the Champions League on a regular basis.

The 22-year-old was asked whether he could see himself playing in a bigger league at club level in the future, but the Danish Under 21 international neatly sidestepped the question by stating he’s keen to improve his form in European competitions:

“Now I have played against Luka Modric and Toni Kroos and I know we lost, but I still felt I played well. Maybe I can take the leap to playing regularly at that level.”

O’Riley has spoken out in the past to say he is flattered by interest from clubs in the Premier League, although he has not expressed a desire to leave Parkhead in the immediate future.

Scouts from Leicester, Newcastle and Crystal Palace have all reportedly watched the midfielder this season, while Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United have also been mentioned as possible suitors.

From O’Riley’s perspective though, he appears to be keen on proving himself in the Champions League and that is certainly an ambition he can fulfil under manager Ange Postecoglou at Celtic.
