“Monitoring The Situation…” Journalist Claims Three EPL Clubs Are Watching Celtic Playmaker

West Ham, Brighton and Leeds are all keeping tabs on Celtic midfielder Reo Hatate, according to reporter Ekrem Konur.

The journalist, who has a questionable track record when it comes to accuracy, says that the three English Premier League teams are “monitoring the situation” of the Japanese playmaker:

To be honest with you, it would be a surprise if scouts from south of the border were not watching Hatate, considering his outstanding performances for the Hoops since he arrived at the start of last year.

The 25-year-old made a massive impact in his first few weeks at Celtic, scoring a brace and providing an assist in his Glasgow derby debut against Rangers. He did tail off at the end of last season but that was mostly due to fatigue.

This campaign, Hatate has been consistently excellent, racking up 17 goal involvements in all competitions. Despite the interest from the Premier League, though, manager Ange Postecoglou will be keen to keep the midfielder at the club for the long term.
