Napoli Poised To Swoop In With Summer Bid For Celtic Loanee Who Lennon Has Discarded

Jeremy Toljan

Napoli will look to sign Jeremy Toljan on a permanent basis in the summer, according to reports in Italy.

The German is currently on loan at Celtic but his time at Parkhead is unlikely to be extended beyond the end of the season.

Toljan has made 12 appearances since arriving from Borussia Dortmund in the January transfer window but the 24-year-old has not featured in the Hoops’ last four games.

Manager Neil Lennon named him on the bench for the 0-0 draw against Hibernian at the weekend, with his last appearance coming at left-back against Rangers in the Old Firm derby at the back end of last month.

Napoli were originally interested in Toljan before he moved to Dortmund in 2017, and the Partenopei are said to have retained an interest since then.

The defender has suffered from knee problems this season, and it is believed the Serie A side want to be assured about his long-term fitness before making a move for the player.
