Neil Lennon Provides New Update On Four Celtic Transfers Ahead Of Deadline

Celtic manager Neil Lennon has offered an update on four transfers ahead of the deadline closing tonight. According to STV journalist Sheelagh McLaren, the Hoops boss commented on Jonjoe Kenny, Ben Davies and Olivier Ntcham, as well as hinting at another possible deal.

On Kenny, Lennon confirmed that the English right-back is likely to join on loan from Everton until the end of the season. He also said that Davies’ decision to snub a move to Parkhead, in favour of Liverpool, was down to finances.

When it came to speaking about Ntcham, Lennon was less forthcoming, simply stating that there was interest in him and he wouldn’t bet against him leaving. Reports in France do suggest a loan move to Marseille is close to being finalised, with an option to buy for around €9m (£8m).

One crucial piece of information that McLaren also picked up, though, was Celtic are still actively trying to sign a centre-back on loan, after failing in their attempts to secure Davies’ signature.
