Liverpool are tracking Celtic winger James Forrest, according to reports in Scotland.
The Reds are said to be watching the 27-year-old ahead of a summer bid for the Scottish international, with the Hoops believed to be prepared to sell for a fee in the region of £8m.
Celtic fans on Twitter dismissed suggestions that Forrest would be sold for such a low amount:
Never going to happen , plus he doesn’t wanna leave ( esp ) to be a bit part squad player
Nice try tho

Make it £38mil, one of Celtic’s most decorated players, in his prime, lots of champions league & Europa league experience …….. on about a 4 year contract!!
Real Madrid just paid £19mil for a boy who never played for Man City, Bournemouth just paid £19mil for a LFC reject !!— Celtic Uncovered (@UncoveredCeltic) 13 January 2019

Add a 0 to that 8 and still not enough EPL teams think they can get our players on the cheap then sell on for 10 times the amount.
GTF.

There’s no doubt that Forrest deserves the attention from English Premier League clubs considering his form so far this campaign.
His 11 goals and 17 assists in all competitions are very impressive numbers, but Celtic would surely hold out for much more than the fee being suggested.
Considering Forrest’s allegiance to the Bhoys after spending almost a decade in the first team, it doesn’t seem likely that the wide man would even want to leave Celtic Park in any case. The midfielder signed a contract extension back in September, keeping him at the Scottish champions until 2022.
