New Team Enters Battle To Sign “Absolutely Brilliant” Celtic Star Who May Leave For Just 7M

Roma have joined fellow Serie A clubs Monza and Torino in the race to sign Celtic fullback Josip Juranovic, according to reports in the Italian media.

The Giallorossi are believed to be keen on recruiting a replacement for Rick Karsdorp who has had a falling out with manager Jose Mourinho.

While Juranovic has been linked with the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Barcelona, a move to Italy seems to be the likeliest outcome at the moment.

Some reports has even suggested that Monza are close to agreeing a loan deal with an option to buy for £7m but those claims have not been substantiated. It would, though, be a disappointing price for a player who had an outstanding World Cup for Croatia. Pundit Gary Neville was particularly effusive in his praise for the defender:

“Absolutely brilliant. Juranovic is fantastic going forward, epitomises the modern day full-back – he’s bright, he’s lively, he’s not just serving the attack – he’s contributing to it. He’s been a real presence in this tournament on the right-hand side for Croatia.”

There had originally been some talk that Celtic had slapped a £17m asking price on Juranovic but, from the sounds of things, they may now accept a substantially lower bid.
