With Fraser Forster having opted against returning to Celtic on a second loan spell (for the time being), fans have been debating who should replace him in goal for the Hoops.
At the moment, it appears as though three keepers are in the frame: Joe Hart, Wigan’s David Marshall and AEK Athens’ Vasilios Barkas.
However, one supporter on Twitter asked why Aberdeen shot-stopper Joe Lewis’s name hasn’t been added into the mix:
Not a bad shout

Not a thing wrong with him. Remember when we signed the likes of Douglas and Gould

There is no doubt that the Englishman has been a reliable pair of hands for the Dons over the past four years. At 32 years of age, he is the same age as Forster and could be a good short-term solution for Neil Lennon.
Lewis would certainly be a more economical option than the likes of Barkas, although whether he could meet the high standards set by the Great Wall last season, it does seem pretty unlikely. It will be interesting to see who the recruitment team pick as their main target for the club’s number one next campaign.
