Postecoglou Provides Transfer Update Amid Claims Celtic Are ‘Close’ To Signing 34 Year Old

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has effectively confirmed that the Hoops are on the lookout for a new goalkeeper.

The Australian did, however, emphasise that the Scottish side are looking to improve in many areas of the pitch before the transfer window closes:

“Barky and Scotty have had a crack at it. If I think we can improve in that position, it’s an area we’ll look at. But there are a number of priorities”

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has stated that Celtic are “close” to finding an agreement with Tottenham over the signing of Joe Hart but the 34-year-old is just one of a number of options being considered.

It was reported earlier this week that the Hoops do hold an interest in Watford keeper Ben Foster, while there have also been claims that the club could make another attempt to sign Fraser Forster on loan from Southampton.

As Postecoglou points out, though, both Vasilis Barkas and Scott Bain have now been given runouts, but neither has convinced and supporters will be keeping their fingers crossed that a new number one will be brought in as soon as possible.
