Postecoglou Speaks Out On Futures Of Two Celtic Stars Who Could Leave For England

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has said he will sit down for talks with both Odsonne Edouard and Kristoffer Ajer very soon.

The two players have one year left on their contracts at Parkhead and the expectation is that both will be sold this summer, but Postecoglou is keen to hold meetings with the pair to gauge their thoughts:

“They’re both just arrived in the country, as have I. I’ll have discussions with them and we’ll make the best decisions for the football club. That’s where my interest lies. For me, the individuals within that, I totally understand and respect their own wishes but I’ll always make decisions in the best interests of this football club because that’s my responsibility. Whatever I think is going to be best for our football club moving forward, that’s the direction we’ll go.”

Edouard has recently seen a move to Leicester collapse, while the likes of Arsenal, West Ham, Southampton and Brighton are all still believed to be keeping tabs on his situation.

Ajer is also likely to leave, with Bayer Leverkusen, RB Leipzig, Newcastle and Norwich having all been mentioned as potential destinations over the past few weeks.

The likelihood of Postecoglou being able to persuade either player to stay is low, although there has been a suggestion that Edouard may see out the final year of his contract.

Whatever the situation, though, fans would like to see their futures resolved so the Scottish club can move on to sign possible replacements.
