Premier League Side Expected To Make Second Bid To Land Unsettled Celtic Star

Fulham remain interested in signing Celtic defender Dedryck Boyata, according to reports in England.

The Cottagers attempted to recruit the Belgian international in the summer only for the Hoops to reject their approach.

Boyata subsequently pulled out of a Champions League qualifier against AEK Athens, citing injury, although manager Brendan Rodgers questioned the centre-back’s story.

Since then, the 27-year-old has been reintegrated into the first team, but with his contract expiring in the summer, the Scottish champions may look to cash in when the transfer window reopens.

When asked about his future recently, Boyata was non-committal about his plans, stating he is focused on playing football after a difficult summer:

“That was hard. I will not deny that. But everything is going well again today. I play every game. We will see what the future will bring. I do not try to think too much about that.”

It seems as though Celtic are indeed preparing for the Belgian’s departure. Aberdeen centre-back Scott McKenna is reportedly still on the club’s radar with the Scottish side expected to make a move for the 22-year-old in January.

They will, however, face competition from Aston Villa and Wolves who are both believed to be keen on the defender.
