Provan Makes Big Title Prediction As He Claims Celtic Have One Crucial Advantage Over Rangers

Ex-Celtic player Davie Provan believes his former club’s ability to spend in the January transfer window could give them an edge over Rangers in the title race.

The Sky Sports pundit claims the Hoops have a very good opportunity to capitalise on their Glasgow rival’s lack of spending power in the transfer market:

“From being in a position where they had no chance of winning this title, I think there’s a decent chance of them winning it now. Rangers are on the slide already, Rangers I don’t think have any headroom in the next transfer window and Celtic do. This window could get Celtic right back into the title race.”

Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou has already confirmed that plans are underway to bring in more reinforcements in the New Year. That is despite the fact they brought in a dozen signings during the last window.

Of course, while adding to their squad will undoubtedly improve the Hoops’ chances, there are also some other factors that need to be considered.

The Gers’ new boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst is very much an unknown quantity in all this, and just as much will depend on how well the Dutchman starts in his job, as it does in how Postecoglou’s side continue to perform.
