Celtic have reportedly snapped up highly-rated under-15s striker Filip Skorb from Portobello Community Football Academy, according to post on their official Facebook page.

While the youngster is a long way away from being a first-team regular at Celtic Park, he has shown plenty of potential for such a young player – he is definitely one to watch in the future.

The Facebook post by Portobello CFA reads: “Congratulations to our Under 15 striker Filip Skorb, who today signed for Celtic FC Everyone at Portobello CFA would like to wish Filip every success for the future.”

Impressively, the Celts are believed to have beaten Newcastle United, Leeds United and bitter rivals Rangers to his signature, as the three clubs were thought to be interested in him earlier in the year [via the Daily Record].

The sheer fact that Celtic were able to beat reputable Premier League clubs to the punch in signing Skorb is a testament to the size of the project that Ange Postecoglou is building with the Hoops. It is certainly an exciting time to be a Celtic fans – signings like this only confirm and exemplify that excitement.

Additionally, Celts fans can also revel in the notion that they have essentially swiped Skorb from under Rangers’ nose – the Light Blues had been interested in him for several months.
