Report Confirms Celtic Do Have £5m Option To Buy 23 Year Old Striker

Celtic do have the option to buy West Ham striker Albian Ajeti for £5m at the end of his season-long loan spell, according to the Guardian‘s Jacob Steinberg.

The reporter, who specialises on reporting on the Hammers, claims that the Swiss international has no future at the London Stadium and will move to Parkhead on a permanent basis if the 23-year-old makes a good impression.

Celtic have yet to confirm Ajeti’s loan deal but an official announcement is expected very soon as manager Neil Lennon reinforces his forward line.

The Hoops boss will be able to call upon Leigh Griffiths again as well, after the 29-year-old proved his fitness following a difficult preseason where he was left out of the pre-season tour to France.

Griffiths started on the bench against Hibernian today, and his return to action means Lennon could well have five strikers going into the new season, along with Odsonne Edouard, Patryk Klimala and Vakoun Bayo.
