Report Provides Exciting Update On Jota’s Future At Celtic

Celtic are considering making Jota’s move permanent during the January transfer window, according to Football Scotland.

The website believes the Hoops are currently looking to sanction four signings next month; three of which are Reo Hatate, Daizen Maeda and Yosuke Ideguchi.

Jota would be classed as the fourth and final deal, with Football Scotland stating that Celtic’s transfer business would  “likely end there.”

Benfica, Jota’s parent club, do not have a say on the Portuguese Under 21 international’s future after agreeing to include an option to buy in the winger’s loan to Celtic.

All the Hoops would need to do is pay the £6.5m required to make the transfer permanent, although the player will also have to be consulted on whether he wants to stay.

It is a substantial amount of money, though, despite Jota having performed extremely well in the first half of the campaign, so the club are likely to take their time before pulling the trigger.
