Respected Journalist Confirms Premier League ‘Big Six’ Club Has “Looked At” Hiring Celtic Manager

Tottenham have “looked at” Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou as they consider long-term replacements for Antonio Conte, according to Football.London reporter Alasdair Gold.

The reliable journalist says the Australian is on Spurs’s radar but he can’t see the London club taking a risk on him as he is untested in the Premier League:

“Celtic fans love him. He had a sticky start last season, he comes across so well, he could unite the fanbase, but he’s coming from Scotland, he might be seen as a risk. He’s definitely someone they’ve looked at”

Fans will be glad that Tottenham are not seriously considering an approach for Postecoglou. While the 57-year-old wouldn’t have been tempted to leave Celtic Park midseason, he may have looked at an offer from Spurs more favourably if they made their move this summer instead.

From the looks of things, they will targeting other options, with Postecoglou seemingly set to stay in charge of the Hoops for a third successive season.

The likes of Wolves, Leicester and Leeds have also considered Postecoglou as a potential candidate in recent months, but it would take a much bigger club south of the border to prise him away from Glasgow.
