Rodgers admits he is in love with Celtic star

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has hailed the class and attitude of forward Moussa Dembele.

The French striker has been one of the most highly rated stars at Parkhead in recent years, scoring goals for fun as Celtic run riot in the SPL.

He has consistently been linked with moves away from the Hoops, and it is still unclear where the 21-year-old’s future lies. But, if he is set to stay at the club this summer ahead of the 18/19 season, it would certainly please Rodgers.

Dembele scored 32 goals during his first season at Celtic, and added another 16 during an injury hit campaign last year.

Brendan Rodgers is certainly a fan of the hitman, praising his attitude and revealing his fondness of the Frenchman.

“Moussa is really focused and he’s a good boy,” said Rodgers.

“He knows it will come for him at some point and there is nothing he can do other than work hard in training and play well in games. He’s done that for the majority of time I’ve been at the club.

“He can only play well, work hard and see what happens.

“Moussa is a really happy boy and he’s a great boy to work with. I love him.

“He has belief he is a player and that is important because you need to have that personality.

“But it is handy when you back it up. That’s what I look for and Moussa backs it up and shows it on the field.

“What I know with Moussa is that nothing affects him really.

“There was a little period in my time here but, apart from that, he’s been absolutely brilliant.”
