Rodgers reveals Celtic are keen on Championship star

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has admitted that the club are interested in signing Moses Odubajo from Hull City this summer.

The full-back has joined Celtic at their training camp in Austria, and Rodgers has admitted that although talks are at an early stage, he is confident that a deal can be wrapped up if he can prove his fitness.

It seems the manager has a lot of belief in the 24-year-old, saying he thinks the former England U20 international has been unfortunate with injuries over the past two seasons.

“He is not training with the club,” Rodgers said when asked about Odubajo’s presence at Celtic’s training camp.

“We had permission from Hull. He is a player that interests us. Of course he has been out injured for a long period of time.

“Just at this moment there is nothing concrete. We have invited him over to have a conversation and we will take it from there.

“In terms of his profile, Moses, when he is fit, is a really dynamic full-back who gets forward. He is very aggressive.

“I had seen him as a young player at Leyton Orient and then coming through the England system and through into Hull, where he had a great season in the Championship.

“It was unfortunate in that season for him in that season where they get to the Premier League, he suffers the injuries so it has been difficult for him.

“So myself and his agent and the club have had a conversation. We will look to progress that and wait see what happens over the course of the next week.”
