Serie A Heavyweights Eye Deal For Celtic Defender As Lennon Looks To Cut Losses On 3M Signing

Roma are interested in signing Celtic left-back Boli Bolingoli, according to reports in Italy. It is claimed that both the Serie A side and Turkish champions Istanbul Basasksehir are keen on signing the Belgian.

Despite only joining the Hoops from Rapid Vienna for £3m last summer, the Scottish champions are keen to offload the defender following his unauthorised trip to Spain which resulted in the postponement of two league games.

Manager Neil Lennon said he was “livid” with Bolingoli following the incident, and he has not been seen in training since his quarantine period came to an end. It is thought that Celtic are keen to find a buyer before the transfer window closes.

Amiens were linked with a loan bid for the 25-year-old last month, but Lennon denied that the French club had made an approach for the player. Whether Roma will make a formal bid for the fullback in the coming weeks, we shall have to wait and see.
