Several Top European Clubs Are Targeting Summer Swoop For Wantaway Celtic Defender

Celtic defender Christopher Jullien is being tracked by a number of French Ligue One clubs, according to reports in the Scottish media.

The 29-year-old has played only one game since returning from a serious knee injury, and he was not even in the matchday squad for the last eleven Premiership games.

Jullien has already spoken out about his future, stating he will have to leave Parkhead if he isn’t going to be handed game time by manager Ange Postecoglou.

His situation is rather puzzling. While Postecoglou has said that he has been reluctant to break up the successful partnership of Cameron Carter-Vickers and Carl Starfelt in the centre of defence, there have been opportunities where Jullien could have been thrown in.

The fact that Jullien wasn’t given a place on the bench for the last game of the season against Motherwell does seem to suggest that the Frenchman’s time at Celtic Park has come to an end.
