Sky Sports Pundit Claims Celtic May Slash 25M Off Asking Price For French Ace As Arsenal Circle

Celtic may be satisfied with selling striker Odsonne Edouard for just £15m, according to Sky Sports pundit Andy Walker.

The Hoops were reportedly demanding as much as £40m for the France Under 21 international in the summer but Walker believes the situation has changed radically since then:

“How much money will Celtic get for him? It all depends on how much they’re willing to accept, but if they got anything around £15m now I think you’re absolutely doing business.”

Reports last month suggested that Arsenal, Tottenham and West Ham are all keen admirers of Edouard, and Celtic will have a big decision to make on the player’s future at the end of the season.

The 23-year-old’s contract expires in 2022, and with the Frenchman unlikely to sign an extension, a sale is the likeliest outcome at the moment. With the global health crisis also hitting club finances, it means the Scottish champions may have to take a hit on the transfer fee.

Whether the price tag will be as low as Walker says, though, it is questionable, especially with the player seemingly in high demand south of the border.
