Celtic have wished their fans a happy new year on Twitter, but a vast majority of their replies were calling on the club to make new signings during the January transfer window.
While names like Filip Benkovic, Patrick Roberts and Andraz Sporar were mentioned, the name that kept being mentioned most was former Hoops star Victor Wanyama:

A move for a central midfielder is likely, with manager Neil Lennon having reportedly confirmed the club’s interest in Bnei Yehuda’s Ismaila Soro.
While the Ivorian would be a welcome addition to take some of the pressure off Callum McGregor and Scott Brown, there is a massive desire from supporters to go after Wanyama instead.
The Tottenham star continues to be on the fringes at the English club, having made just one brief appearance under manager Jose Mourinho in the 3-1 defeat to Bayern Munich last month.
There are concerns that Celtic wouldn’t be able to afford the 28-year-old’s wages but many fans would like to see the club try and bring the Kenyan back to Parkhead.
