Stewart: Celtic’s 23 Goal Striker “Would Walk” Into Manchester United’s Eleven And Is Better Than Martial

Former Manchester United academy graduate Michael Stewart has backed Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard to go straight into the Red Devils’ starting line up if the Hoops ever decided to sell the Frenchman to the English Premier League club.

The 22-year-old scored another brace in a 4-0 win over Motherwell last night and talking on BT Sport, Stewart said he can see him playing at Old Trafford:

“Manchester United don’t have a striker, Odsonne Edouard would walk into that team.”

When asked if Edouard would be a better choice than his fellow countryman Anthony Martial, Stewart replied:

“Yeah, I think so.”

The France Under 21 international has been in fantastic form in recent months, with his two goals yesterday taking his tally to 23 for the season in 37 appearances.

Celtic supporters will not be worrying whether Edouard will be the subject of bids from other clubs in the summer, though. All they will be hoping for is that he stays fit and helps the Scottish club to their ninth league title in a row.
