Striker Has Offers From Five Different Teams As Celtic’s Hopes Of Receving 6M Windfall Increase

Celtic striker Giorgos Giakoumakis has been approached by five different clubs, according to reports in the Greek media.

Serie A strugglers Sampdoria are believed to be the team pressing the hardest to secure the forward‘s signature but there is interest from elsewhere.

Giakoumakis is also a target for J League side Urawa Red Diamonds, while clubs in the USA, Russia and Germany have been in contact about signing the player in January as well.

The 28-year-old has only been with the Hoops for eighteen months ago, having joined from VVV Venlo in the summer of 2021, but talks over increasing his salary have ended without an agreement being reached.

Despite originally spending £2.5m on Giakoumakis, Celtic are now hopeful of selling the Greek international for around £6m. That would be a significant profit for the Scottish champions but it remains to be seen whether any team will meet the valuation.
