Celtic fans were pleased with their team’s impressive comeback victory against ten-man St. Mirren, as they fought from a goal down to win 5-1 and retain their position at the top of the Scottish Premiership.
While some fans were simply happy with the result, others questioned the competency of the officials when the Celts went behind early on. St. Mirren were awarded a penalty after Greg Taylor was judged to have handled the ball in the Bhoys’ area, which was converted by Mark O’Hara.
Despite this setback, Celtic fought back hard. When Jota found the equaliser, the floodgates opened – Mikey Johnston, Liel Abada, Matt O’Riley and Oh Hyeon-Gyu all got in on the act en route to Celtic’s dominant win.
We dominated a decidedly complicated match. We managed to win both because we have infinitely superior quality and also because they are left in 10. We are always up there, +9 on the second (which I don’t even want to mention). Very good. #STMCEL #cinchPrem #COYBIG

Great 2nd half. Questions once again to be asked of the officials. If that is handball penalty, then why has Goldson not conceded a record for pens this season??? We are only going to get a fair shake if the board raise these issues with the SPFL.

Much better 2nd half Celts.
Quality & fitness shine thru.
Not our best 90 mins overall but still way above the opposition. Wish that was Johnston that scored tho. Deserves a goal.
MOTM either Taylor or Johnston. Both were excellent. I’ll go Taylor.

The issue Celtic fans have is that Goldson plays volleyball in the box and doesn’t concede a single penalty. Especially the one at the 2-2 game. How can VAR be so inconsistent?

Celtic fans were happy with the big victory – but some supporters were concerned with the inconsistency of handball decisions being called against their team.
They highlighted an incident in their most recent Scottish Premiership Old Firm derby, where Connor Goldson went unpunished following what looked like a handball in the area. In the game against St. Mirren, Greg Taylor committed a similar offence, but did not escape punishment from the officials.
Nevertheless, Celtic remain top of the league, with nine points seperating them and Rangers.
