Sutton Issues Warning To Celtic Board Following £25m Transfer Deal

Ex-Celtic striker Chris Sutton says the Hoops must spend big after agreeing to sell Kieran Tierney to Arsenal for £25m. The sale will break the record for a Scottish player but he believes the Gunners will be getting him on the cheap:

The former player, turned pundit, now expects the Scottish champions to go big in the transfer market before the September 2nd deadline:

Currently, it appears Kilmarnock fullback Greg Taylor is the favourite to replace Tierney at Celtic Park, with reports suggesting he is high on the list of targets that the Hoops have drawn up.

The club may face competition for the 21-year-old, though, with German side Nuremberg having already reportedly made two bids for the fullback, which have been turned down by Killie.

However, they are expected to return with a third bid for the Scottish international by the end of the month, so Celtic may want to complete a quick deal once Tierney’s departure is finalised later today.
