Sutton Makes Provocative Claim About Old Firm’s Europa League Chances Against United And Arsenal

Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton says that both Celtic and Rangers would not be frightened of facing Arsenal or Manchester United in the Europa League knockout stages.

The Hoops have already qualified for the last 32, while their Old Firm rivals still have a job to do in their final group game against Young Boys, but Sutton claims neither Scottish club would be afraid of playing the English teams:

With the Gunners in disarray after sacking their manager Unai Emery, while United are languishing in midtable, it does suggest that Sutton could well have a point about Celtic.

The Hoops have beaten Lazio both home and away this season, and considering the Italian club currently sit third in Serie A, it would indicate they are performing at a higher level than either Arsenal or the Red Devils.

Whether Celtic will get drawn alongside one of them in the next round, we shall have to wait and see.
