Sutton Warns Celtic And Rangers Ahead Of Possible Neck And Neck Title Race

Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton has warned the two Old Firm clubs that any slip-ups in this season’s title race could prove particularly costly to their chances of finishing at the top of the table.

The BT Sport pundit does feel that the Hoops’ experience will give them the edge this campaign, but he is anticipating a tightly fought contest which could go down to the wire:

“Celtic and Rangers need to be ruthless from the outset. Every slip could be a disaster. I can’t see much margin for error and, given that Celtic have been over the course before, it’s Rangers who have to prove they can handle that situation.”

After Rangers won their opening game against Aberdeen, it is down to Neil Lennon‘s side to respond straight away when they play Hamilton tomorrow evening.

Celtic have not strengthened their squad as much as some would have liked this summer but the main core from the title-winning team from last season are still together and they are justifiably favourites to make it ten in a row.

Fans will be hoping that they meet expectations and get off to a winning start when they face the Accies at Celtic Park.
