‘That’s A Belter!!’ ‘Canny Stop Watching This’ – Celtic Fans On Twitter Hail Legend After Stunning Strike In Cup Tie

Celtic reached the quarter-finals of the Scottish Cup with a thumping 5-0 win over St Johnstone yesterday.

The Hoops’ opponents had no answer as Brendan Rodgers’ side dominated throughout the 90 minutes.

The highlight of the match was captain Scott Brown’s excellent long range strike to put the Scottish champions 2-0 up after just nine minutes:

Supporters on Twitter praised the 33-year-old for his stunning goal:

Brown recently committed his long-term future to the club after turning down interest from Australian side Western Melbourne to stay at Celtic Park.

After signing a two-year contract extension at the end of last month, the midfielder said he would retire once his new deal reaches its end.

Brown would have spent 14 years at the club when his current contract expires in 2021. Going by his spectacular goal against the Saints yesterday, the former Scottish international still has much to offer the club before he finally hangs up his boots.
