‘The Fee Can Be Negotiated Down’ ‘Pure Greed’ Fans Fume As Celtic Loanee’s New Asking Price Is Revealed
Celtic would have to pay approximately £10m if they want to snap up Tottenham defender Cameron Carter-Vickers on a permanent basis, according to reports in Scotland.
The American international joined on an initial season-long loan deal but the Hoops did agree a ‘first option’, so they could have a chance of signing him next summer before anyone else.
It was initially believed that Spurs’s asking price was nearer to £6m but, with add-ons, it is now thought Celtic would have to pay £4m on top of that. Fans on Twitter are not particularly happy about this latest development:
The fee can be negotiated down. If we didn’t take the option up he’s back on the market and then we could bid but we risk having competition.
He’s not a 10m pound player but he is worth trying to secure permanently for less.

Tbh if he keeps playing as he is then I wouldn’t be surprised if someone down south would pay £10m for him. The like of Bournemouth if they come up

We shall see how this one plays out. It is unlikely that the Hoops would pay that much for a player but, if Carter-Vickers continues to play well during his loan spell, Tottenham may find other clubs willing to meet their demands.
Conversely, if he starts to struggle, Celtic could bring down the price tag but would they then still be interested in buying him?
