‘The Market Down There Is Crazy’ ‘£1.5m At Best’ Fans On Twitter Laugh Off Ridiculous Valuation Of Celtic Target

Celtic reportedly had a £4m offer turned down for striker Ivan Toney by Peterborough on Friday, with the English League One side believed to be demanding as much as £12.5m for the player.

Supporters on Twitter have been critical of the inflated prices south of the border and do not believe the 24-year-old is worth anywhere close to his reported valuation:

It appears as though the Hoops have already moved on to other targets, with the likes of West Ham’s Albian Ajeti and Union Berlin’s Sebastian Andersson believed to be on the club’s radar.

Celtic’s interest in signing another striker is a surprise considering they already have the likes of Odsonne Edouard, Leigh Griffiths, Patryk Klimala and Vakoun Bayo in the squad.

However, it appears manager Neil Lennon is very keen to add extra firepower as the Scottish champions aim to make it ten league titles in a row this campaign.
