“The One They Are Looking At…” Journalist Confirms Celtic Playmaker Has Admirers In The EPL

Celtic midfielder Reo Hatate is being scouted by clubs in the Premier League, according to Daily Record journalist Gordon Parks.

The Japanese international has had a very impressive first full season for the Hoops and Parks believes that teams south of the border are keeping a close eye on his progress:

“From the big clubs in England, out of the whole batch of Celtic players, Hatate’s the one they are looking at. And, I think, for good reason. Dynamic, he’s got talent, he’s got touch, he’s managed to get his engine working. He is the link man. He’s got a driving force in him. He’s exactly what English clubs are looking for.”

Parks doesn’t name a specific club, which may suggest that any interest in Hatate is not serious at this stage, but it is not surprising that his performances are turning heads.

This campaign, the 25-year-old has scored eight goals and contributed nine assists in 37 appearances, which is an impressive record for a central midfield player.

However, Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou believes that Hatate does have the potential to go up another level, which should strike fear into the Hoops’ opponents.

Despite his excellent form, the midfielder has once again been omitted from Japan’s squad for their friendly fixtures next week. Celtic fans, though, will be glad that he will be getting a rest during the international break.
