United Legend Explains Why Celtic Has The Best European Atmosphere

Former Manchester United left-back Patrice Evra has named Celtic Park as the best atmosphere he experienced in the Champions League.

The former France international, who won five Premier League trophies and the European Cup during his time at Old Trafford, says he remembers the game in 2008 between the Red Devils and the Hoops very well:

“I remember Celtic. They are the ones, for real. ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’. When they sing that song, I remember I even got some goosebumps. Wow. Celtic.”

Evra is not the first player from abroad to point out the electric atmosphere that can be generated at Parkhead on European nights, and he won’t be the last.

The energy around the place is very different to any other ground in Europe, especially when Celtic are going up against the elite of European football.

Of course, those type of atmospheres may not be possible this season, unless the club reach the group stages when it will be hoped that some fans will be allowed back into the stadium. As things stand, though, nobody knows when supporters will be afforded the chance to see the players in the flesh once again.
