Celtic midfielder David Turnbull has won the Scottish Premiership Player of the Month award for December.

The 21-year-old scored three goals and contributed one assist in five league games last month, and supporters on Twitter believe the player is more than deserving of the accolade:

Turnbull has had to be patient for his opportunities since he arrived from Motherwell in August. He made just one league start in his first three months at the club but, after starring in the 3-2 win over Lille, he hasn’t been left out of the eleven.

Like most of Celtic’s senior players, though, he will be missing when the Scottish champions take on Hibernian in the league game this evening, and that will undoubtedly be a big disappointment.

When Turnbull is eligible to play again, he will almost certainly be handed a long run of games in the side due to his excellent recent form.
