Elyounoussi was excellent when he first arrived from the Saints, scoring seven goals and providing six assists, but a foot injury in November led to him missing out on a large number of games.
When he returned, the 25-year-old found it hard to recapture his form, and fans will be hoping he can reproduce the type of performances that he showed early on during his loan spell.
Celtic certainly needed to strengthen on the wings, with Mikey Johnston and James Forrest the only real natural wide men in the first-team squad.
Elyounoussi will provide competition for places and he will also offer a goal threat which could prove invaluable as the Scottish club aim for ten league titles in a row.
