15M Rated Championship Star Speaks Out On Future Plans Following Celtic Scouting Trip

Bristol City forward Antoine Semenyo says that he is “not in any kind of a rush” to play at the highest level, despite speculation about his future.

Celtic and Watford have been mentioned as potential suitors for the 22-year-old in recent weeks but the player is prepared to wait for his big move:

“It has always been a dream of mine from when I was young. But whether it comes now or in a few years, I’m not in any kind of a rush. I just want to keep working on my game so that if I do ever get to the top then hopefully there’ll be no problems.”

Semenyo’s club is reportedly holding out for a fee in the region of £15m, which would put him well out of Celtic’s price range. However, scout Craig Strachan was reportedly in the stands when Bristol City took on Reading earlier this month to see the striker play, so they may be looking at another way to secure his signature.

It is believed that contract talks have begun between Semenyo and the Robins but his current deal does expire in 2023. If an extension can’t be agreed, the Hoops could well swoop in next year and sign him on a free transfer.
