21 Goal Striker “In the Process Of Finalising Negotiations” As Potential Celtic Move Draws Closer

The father of Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors striker Cho Gue-sung has confirmed that a move to Europe is in the works.

The South Korean international is believed to be on Celtic’s radar and, while his father did not reveal which team the forward could be joining, he did say he is set for a transfer soon:

“He needs a club that will help him adapt and settle down to a new lifestyle on and off the pitch. I know his agent is in the process of finalising negotiations regarding his transfer overseas. He will certainly go to Europe.”

Hoops boss Ange Postecoglou will be aware of Cho, having seen him play against his Yokohama F Marinos side a few years ago.

It would, therefore, be a surprise if Celtic are not one of the clubs currently in negotiations to sign the 24-year-old ahead of the January transfer window.

Following reports that talks with Giorgos Giakoumakis over a new contract have broken down, it also stands to reason that Postecoglou would already be lining up a potential replacement.

He has delved into the transfer market twice in recent weeks, wrapping up deals for FC Montreal’s Alistair Johnston and Vissel Kobe’s Yuki Kobayashi.
