Celtic are in talks with Odsonne Edouard’s representatives about a contract extension, according to reports in the Scottish media.
It is believed that no agreement is close, but it is said that the aim is to offer a substantial wage rise with the proviso that he stays until the end of next season.
Supporters on Twitter think the club should do all they can to ensure Edouard stays in order to help the Hoops push for a potential tenth league title in a row:
45 million release clause! 5 year deal 50,000 a week get it done celts! Sign Forster permanently. Don't need Elyounoussi send him back get someone else in

50 million no less

It would be best signing we could ever make however , if agreement is to let him go after next season as long as not a clause for him to leave for a cheap figure. We shouldn’t consider anything less than £40m and that’s generous. ?

If the board agree a new contract for Édouard, surely they can see this as an investment. The money whatever it will be will cover the amount we spent to buy him, also wages when we increase the current deal, and ofcourse the sell on clause will still make us a profit.

What clause are we expecting? Lawwell better stay firm, I would imagine £35 million though.

That deal is best for business.. To be fair, it's not 2000-4 larsson here where we can settle his ambitions. I think the guarantee of moving next summer clinches it and fair play celtic & Eddie for seeing the value of 2020/21

He can go for free in june 2021 if he gets us 10.

The striker’s form has been pretty spectacular this season, with the player having scored 26 goals and provided 17 assists in 43 appearances.
It has led to reports in recent weeks that the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea have been keeping tabs on the 22-year-old. However, while both the club and fans are realistic enough to understand that he may not want to stay for the long term, it would be a big boost if he decided to stay for an extra year.
