Celtic have been in touch with the representatives of El Ahly attacking midfielder Afsha, according to reports in the Scottish media.
The Egyptian, who has been capped 20 times by his country, is being looked at as a permanent signing ahead of the January transfer window.
Afsha (whose full name is Mohamed Magdy) is an experienced player, having won the African Champions League twice with El Ahly, and most supporters on Twitter believe he would be a good addition to the squad:

Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou is seemingly keen to get all of his business out of the way ahead of the window officially opening next month.
It is believed that, in addition to Afsha, the Scottish champions are targeting Cho Gue-sung, which seems to suggest that Postecoglou wants, at least, four new signings for the second half of the campaign, Deals for FC Montreal’s Alistair Johnston and Vissel Kobe’s Yuki Kobayashi are already in the bag.
