Aaron Boupendza’s Stance On Moving To Celtic Revealed As New 7.3M Bid Is Lined Up

Hatayspor winger Aaron Boupendza’s “first choice” would be to stay in Turkey, despite interest from Celtic, according to Milliyet.

The Turkish publication reports that the 24-year-old is more “receptive” to receiving offers from other Turkish clubs, with both Galatasaray and Fenerbahce said to be interested in the player.

However, Celtic are the team who have made the first move for Boupendza, having had a €6.5m (£5.6m) bid rejected by Hatayspor in recent days. The Hoops are reportedly still keen on the Gabonese international and Milliyet claim the Scottish club are preparing another offer worth €8m (£7.3m).

The forward has been very prolific in front of goal this season, having hit the back of the net 22 times in 36 league appearances, and it looks as though Celtic are looking to replace the goals they will lose if they sell Odsonne Edouard.

Boupendza is more comfortable playing on either wing, though, but he has, on occasion, played as a striker this campaign.
