Celtic right-back Alistair Johnston has had a phenomenal start to life at Parkhead.
The Canadian international has not been on the losing side since making the switch from Montreal during the January transfer window. In fact, the only dropped points in his 15 games for the club so far came in his first game, during a 2-2 versus Rangers.
Many felt he had big shoes to fill when Josip Juranovic left the Hoops for Union Berlin but Johnston has stepped up to the plate, with some fans on Twitter even believing that he is a better player than the Croatian:
Absolute solid professional ๐ heโs already ranking up there with the greats at right back. HH

A class footballer, have not even noticed that Juranovic has left Celtic. A Johnston is a far better defender ๐๐

Johnston really couldn’t have asked for a better start. The fullback will be the first to admit that he does need to improve somewhat in the final third of the pitch, but he is solid as a rock defensively.
The 24-year-old’s work rate is second to none and he fits right in with regards to the style of play that manager Ange Postecoglou is implementing.
