Celtic winger Mikey Johnston scored twice for Vitoria Guimaraes in their 3-1 win against Canelas in the Portuguese Cup on Sunday afternoon.
The 23-year-old’s first was an outstanding solo effort, while the second was a neat finish with his weaker right foot.
Supporters on Twitter were very pleased that Johnston is impressing during his time on loan in Portugal, although some believe he has simply found his level:
Always had potential.

He always had the talent, he just needs a run of games and to stay injury free! Hope this spell away helps him and he comes back a better/stronger player!

The equivalent of Saint Mirren against Greenock Morton.

It must be said that Vitoria were facing a third-tier team, so the opposition wasn’t particularly strong, but it will surely give Johnson the confidence to kick on and make a success of his loan spell.
The winger has not started a league game so far, having made three substitute appearances, although he did provide an assist in the 2-2 draw versus Arouca last month. He will be hoping that he has done enough to be named in the eleven when Vitoria face Boavista next weekend.
