BBC Pundit Names Three Celtic Players In His Team Of The Season

Michael Stewart has named Odsonne Edouard, Christopher Jullien and Ryan Christie in his Premiership team of the season.

The BBC Pundit was limited in his selection to three players per team so it is likely he would have picked a lot more Hoops stars if he had a choice.

Stewart has reserved special praise for Edouard, who he says has shown himself to be a technically adept player after having doubts about his game following his arrival in Scotland:

“I didn’t realise just how technically classy he was when he first joined. He looked a bit awkward, but now he’s like velvet or silk. He’s so smooth and graceful. The full package.”

Edouard has certainly been on fire this campaign, having scored 21 goals and contributed 12 assists in 27 league appearances.

The 22-year-old has played well both as a lone striker and working in tandem with fellow forward Leigh Griffiths. He is developing as a player all the time, leading to speculation about a potential move away from Celtic Park.

Jullien, meanwhile, has more than justified his £7m price tag, and Christie’s 19 goals in all competitions this season also merited his inclusion.
