‘Bring Him Home’ ‘We Need Everyone Fighting Fit’ Celtic Fans Concerned After Latest Injury Update

Celtic striker Giorgos Giakoumakis has not been in full training with the Greece national team after picking up a thigh problem, according to reports.

The 27-year-old has had a MRI scan but no issues were found, so Greece’s medical staff have put him on a special programme to manage the injury.

With Giakoumakis now unlikely to face Northern Ireland in the Nations League tomorrow night, supporters on Twitter are calling for the forward to return to Glasgow:

If Giakoumakis isn’t fit and can’t play tomorrow then it is probably better for all concerned that he goes back to Lennoxtown where his injury can be treated ahead of the Hoops’ next match against Motherwell.

Considering the fixture is on Saturday, it looks as though the Greek international may be in a race against time to be fit for the game. He has a decent record versus Motherwell, having scored a brace in the last meeting back in May.
