Celtic have entered talks with Southampton to re-sign goalkeeper Fraser Forster on loan, according to reports in the Scottish media.
The 33-year-old turned down the chance to move back to Scotland last summer, opting to fight for a first-team place at the Saints instead, and most fans on Twitter have still not forgiven him:
Burnt his bridges imo.

Not for me, he didn't want to come back and I think we have enough players who Celtic isn't there no.1 choice any more.

Doesn't want to be here, made that clear

Don’t want him. He uses us when he wants to try and get a game and recognition. He didn’t want to sign so why keep going back to the same well? ??♂️

He choose to sit on the bench for Southampton over making history with us. Wouldnt give him the time of day again unfortunately.

Helluva lot of cash to be chucking at another loan whilst our £5m signing sits on the bench. Buy one and sell one?

At this stage, it doesn’t look likely that a deal will happen for Forster. The Englishman is on a staggering £130,000 a week, and it is believed that the Hoops would have to pay at least a third of that to get a deal over the line.
There is also another issue in the fact that the loan fee for the shot-stopper could be a lot higher than the amount they paid to secure his services two years ago.
Southampton have recently allowed one of their first-team keepers, Angus Gunn, to leave for Norwich City, so the Saints are said to be reluctant to let another one go. We shall see how this transfer story develops.
